2014 Cluj Innovation Days
Between the 20 and 21st of March 2014, ClujIT community welcomes its members and guests to the 2nd edition of Cluj Innovation Days. This year the event is structured in three main sections: Master Innovation, Fostering Entrepreneurship and Showcasing Innovation. The event will be hosted by the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medecine, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Cluj Innovation Days is an annual regional event organized by the ClujIT cluster aiming at developing solid business relations at international level and to strengthen the local IT community. By 2017, CLUJ IT aims to become one of the most credible suppliers from Eastern Europe for Innovative IT services and products as well as organizational support systems.
ClujIT is a cluster association of organizations active in the information technology field, including: 23 IT companies, 2 universities and their research departments, 6 public institutions and catalyst organizations. CLUJ IT has a strong Strategic Council as well as the support of the Romanian Government and the local authorities, which acknowledged CLUJ IT as an initiative of national importance. CLUJ IT focuses on fostering innovation, creating a partnership culture, promoting Romanian IT and forging a strong public-private partnership.
According to the official event brochure, Cluj IT community counts currently more than 100 milion yearly revenues, about 9000 employees in the ITC field, more than 50 years of experience in Research and Development activities. Another major aspect is that 80% of ClujIT business is done as service export.
The dimensions of the community and its technical expertise outline ClujIT as fit professional community for large projects and research and development activities: 45% of ClujIT members are agile medium sized companies (20-100 employees), 30% are larger medium sized companies with more than 100 employees/company and 45% of the companies have more than 10 years in business.
From the competency perspective ClujIT professionals offers a diverse expertise: +700 NET developers, +600 Java developers, +400 software testers, +400 C/C++ developers, +200 PHP developers, +150 mobile developers and + 150 support engineers. At the last interrogation, the community counted +200 Project managers and about 100 business analysts.
In such context, the event organized by the ClujIT cluster promises to become one of the leading industry events in Romania. More than 500 participants are expected to join Cluj Innovation Days.
