Summer vibes have finally reached the Codespring Mentoring Program community! The Adrenalin Park near Cluj-Napoca proved to be the perfect venue for the team-building event, where 12 interns from Babeș–Bolyai University, their mentors from SOFTECH, and our team of coordinators came together to overcome even the most demanding challenges.

Codespring Mentoring Program team building

When members of a project team regularly spend time together in a familiar environment, they develop certain workplace bonds and patterns that shape their relationships with one another. However, when they step outside their usual routine – and, in some cases, the roles they’ve assumed there – they have a great opportunity to shift their perspectives, get to know each other more deeply, and take their collaboration to a higher level.

Team Building with a Twist

At Codespring | SOFTECH, we often mean this quite literally. This week, the IT students participating in the 2026 edition of the Codespring Mentoring Program, along with their mentors, put their individual abilities and current teamwork skills to the test at Adrenalin Park near Cluj-Napoca.

This environment, with its completely unfamiliar circumstances, allowed them to experience just how important collaboration is. Sometimes the roles were even reversed: those who had previously been giving instructions became the ones receiving them, as they worked through a variety of challenging tasks.

Skills Tested in New Fields

The nearly thirty participants spent a remarkable day together. The 12 computer science students from Babeș–Bolyai University were welcome at the Codespring | SOFTECH office in Cluj-Napoca in the morning. Our well-prepared HR team kicked off the program with a useful soft skills training session. Based on the 17 years of experience we’ve accumulated through the Codespring Mentoring Program and our current expertise, we’re convinced that, in addition to professional training and learning about the latest technological trends, developing interpersonal skills is also key to succeeding in the job market and advancing one’s career.

In the afternoon, they were able to put what they had learned into practice at Adrenalin Park, near Cluj-Napoca. The adventure park offered a variety of ways to unwind and challenge themselves both mentally and physically. Visitors can participate in individual adventure courses and team building activities; our team took part in all of them.

Beyond the Comfort Zone

The interns found this outdoor day very stimulating. It took them out of their comfort zone and gave them the opportunity to reveal a different side of themselves. In the heat of the day, getting out of the office wasn’t just refreshing, but the closeness to nature, the shared adventure, and the exciting challenges put both the participants’ physical fitness and mental skills to the test.

After successfully completing the challenges, there was time for some well-deserved relaxation in the adventure park’s hammocks, followed by some pizza and a toast to wrap up the day. In our experience, events such as these all contribute to making the summer spent with us an unforgettable experience for our interns. In many cases, this period can really help tighten the bonds between them and their fellow students and mentors alike. This proves to serve as a solid foundation for them later on, when they begin their professional careers.

The Codespring Mentoring Program welcomed second-year computer science students from Transylvania for the 17th consecutive year in Cluj-Napoca, Târgu Mureș, and Odorheiu Secuiesc.
