Among the employees of Codespring|Softech, community involvement is not just a seasonal gesture but an essential part of how we define ourselves. As one of the best-known IT companies in Transylvania, with offices in Cluj-Napoca, Târgu Mureș, and Odorheiu Secuiesc, we believe that sustainable growth in software development must go hand in hand with social responsibility in the region.

It gave us real holiday joy to see how our colleagues’ 2025 Christmas charity initiatives brought positive change to a Transylvanian community facing hardship. As part of a long-term cooperation with the Gondviselés Charity Organization, our employees supported disadvantaged children and elderly people in the Erdővidék region, proving that solidarity is one of the strongest pillars of community life.
Software Development and Supporting Communities
Erdővidék, once a thriving mining region, has to face serious economic and social hardship as the mines closed. Many families and institutions now struggle with limited opportunities. Also, local schools are constantly fighting for the prevention of school drop-out due to their students’ challenging financial conditions. Despite all these difficulties, dedicated teachers and volunteers continue to explore the best opportunities for the local children, often going far beyond professional expectations to support them.
In 2025, our charity action focused on one of the most disadvantaged schools in that area: the elementary and kindergarten classes in the village of Racoșul de Sus. Employees of Codespring | Softech prepared personalized gift packages for the children, including sweets, warm clothing, winter shoes, school stationary, books, and toys.
The donations were collected at our headquarters at Cluj-Napoca by the 12th of December, ensuring that all of the children receive their gifts before Christmas. Seeing their joy during this visit reminded all participants why such initiatives matter: what we consider a small gesture, can have a great impact, especially on children who rarely receive such gifts or support from their families.
Financial Support for Elderly Care
The voluntary charity action of our software development company’s employees also extended to elderly citizens of the region – another vulnerable group in Transylvania. Through internal fundraising, our colleagues collected financial donations to support the elderly home of Hăghig. Using these funds, volunteers purchased essential medical supplies, including blood pressure monitors, thermometers, massage guns, physical mobility tools, a large TV, and a small goodie bag for each elderly person, with sweets and fruits.
A Tradition of Sharing: The Christmas Charity Fair
A beloved tradition of our software developers’ community is the annual Christmas charity fair. In the first weeks of December, employees from Cluj, Târgu Mureș and Odorhei bring into the office items they wish to donate for good reason. Homemade pastries and handicraft items such as clay mugs and Christmas decorations are always among the most popular contributions.
As the colleagues purchase the gifts, decorations, and treats, that money is also directed toward the same noble causes. Beyond the evident benefit, the charity fair fosters generosity and team spirit, showing how supporting others can become part of everyday life, in and outside the workplace.
Bringing Joy Together in Transylvania
The most expected part of the charity action took part on the 17th of December. Volunteers of Codespring | Softech and the Gondviselés Charity Organization traveled from Cluj to Erdővidék to personally deliver the beautifully packed gift boxes for 33 children, school supplies for 8 schools, the equipment for the elderly home, and almost 100 goodie bags for the senior citizens. Meeting both the children and the elderly people was a deeply moving experience for the volunteers of our software development company.
Every year, volunteers admit that they receive at least as much as they give. Witnessing the excitement of the children as they unpack their surprise boxes and the joy of the senior citizens gives them a warmth that surely makes their Christmas even more beautiful. This way, our volunteers can experience directly the impact their involvement has on others, especially in the holiday season – and that experience inspires them to take part in similar actions again and again.
Why Community Engagement Matters
As a software development company based in Cluj but active across the whole Transylvanian region, we are aware that technological progress alone does not build a strong society. Constant development requires attention to the people and communities around us, especially the ones in need.
In Transylvania, we can see many rural communities facing economic and social challenges. Our employees strongly believe that charity initiatives help bridge some of the gaps between communities with better opportunities and less fortunate ones – and maybe, through constant actions, provide some opportunities they lacked. By involving in these initiatives, our employees can gain a deeper understanding of some social issues while fostering empathy and the joy of working toward shared goals within the team.
Looking Ahead
Over the years, our partnership with the Gondviselés Charity Organization has grown into a trusted collaboration that benefits both givers and receivers. Each campaign reminds us that in the long run, our consistent little acts matter more than occasional support. Each year, the volunteers meet at these charity actions as friends, and they are warmly welcomed by the institutions they visit.
We are convinced that, in the future, colleagues of Codespring | Softech remain committed to these charity initiatives that contribute to the development of a more inclusive and supportive society. This way, we will continue to evolve not just mentally and professionally, but also emotionally – and maybe give something further to less fortunate people from the benefits we received so far. Because building future means strengthening the communities we are part of today.
