Samsung, Sony, HTC, LG, Nokia, Huawei revealed their latest devices and innovations. A distinct and exotic appearance is the Yota team from Russia.

Samsung at MWC 2014

Samsung’s event “Unpacked 5” held on the 24th of February 2014 revealed the so much expected Samsung Galaxy S5. With a 5.1-inch Full HD Super AMOLED screen Samsung Galaxy is water- and dust-resistant. It is equipped with a quad-core Krait 2.5GHz chipset, with 2GB of RAM and a 2800mAh battery.  Samsung considers that Samsung Galaxy S5 camera is the “strongest on the market”, working a 16MP sensor capable of shooting 4K video, with background refocus, real time HDR and a 0.3s capture rate. There’s also a 2.1MP snapper on the front of the handset. The esthetics are appealing: colors like “Charcoal Black”, “Shimmery White”, “Electric Blue” and “Copper Gold” will be available. The market release is set for April 2014.

The Samsung smart watches series steps further with Samsung Gear 2 and Samsung Gear 2 Neo. Wrist-based apps are trendy and imaginative. According to Samsung officials the Android will be replaced with the new OS based on Tizen platform.

Sony at MWC 2014

Sony Xperia Z2 smartphone

Sony did shake the Mobile World Congress 2014 with its 5.2 inch flagship smartphone: Sony Xperia Z2. As its predecessor, Sony Xperia Z2 is waterproof and we love that! The headline feature is Sony’s 20.7MP camera – an Exmor RS for mobile image sensor incorporating the award-winning G Lens. Videos with Sony Xperia Z2 will delight users as the handset can capture in 4K resolution. This all is supported by Android KitKat, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor – a 2.3GHz quad-core Krait CPU – as well as 4G LTE connectivity, NFC, 3GB of RAM and a 3200mAh battery. The screen is simply amazing: 5.2-inch display , full HD with Sony’s Bravia-inspired Triluminos know-how assisted by the Adreno 330 GPU. The market release is set for March 2014.

Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet

The world’s lightest and slimmest tablet – Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet – is a technology fiercefull little beast: it measures 6.4mm and weighs 426g! It is water resistant and carries a lot of power: a Snapdragon 801 processor with 2.3GHz quad-core Krait CPU and to round it off an Adreno 330GPU.  The screen is a 10.1-inch Full HD Triluminos display with X-Reality technology. The battery charging speed is boosted by 75 per cent. Built on Android Kitkat 4.0, it will be available on black and white. The market release is set for March 2014.

Sony Smartwatches

Along with the smartphones, Sony has developed the smart watch series: SW2 and Wrist Strap SE20. SmartWatch 2 expands the Android experience and introduces new and exciting ways to live and communicate. It interacts with your smartphone over Bluetooth®, and what’s happening in your life is mirrored on your watch.

HTC at MWC 2014

Saving its grand release of HTC One 2 on the 25th of March 2014, HTC brought in the spotlight at MWC 2014 its ‘flagship mid-range’ device, the HTC Desire 816. Powered by a quad-core 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 chip, it has 8GB of storage and is equipped with 1.5GB of RAM. Once can increase the storage capacity up to 64GB with the microSD card slot. NFC, DLNA connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and 4G/LTE functionality are available. The release date is set for April 2014.

HTC smartwatches prototypes are also present at MWC 2014, behind closed doors.

LG at MWC 2014

Supersize has its own beauty! – At least that is how LG proves it at the MWC 2014 mobile show with its new phablet or supersized smartphone: LG G PRO 2. With a 5.9-inch full HD display, LG G PRO 2 is bigger than the phablet of choice. The specifications are decent: 2.26GHz quad-core, 3GB of RAM, 16/32GB of internal storage, Android 4.4 KitKat.

NOKIA at MWC 2014

Astonishingly, Nokia goes on Android with Nokia X and Nokia X+ at Mobile World Congress 2014. Finished the Windows Phone exclusive era. Looking a lot like Lumia, these two new devices are designed for the low-cost segment and bring a colorful perspective: bright green, bright red, cyan, yellow, black and white. Nokia X It is a 4-inch IPS capacitive display, with a 3MP camera, dual SIM cards, and expandable storage via a MicroSD card slot. They are supported by a 1GHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon dual core processor, have 512MB RAM & 4GB eMMC, and an impressive 1500mAh battery.

Huawei at MWC 2014

With a nice Premium look, Huawei’s MediaPad X1 shines among the company’s launched products at MWC 2014. One of the smallest 7-inch tablets, MediaPad X1 is easily portable and comfortable. The specs are impressive: 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, microSD slot, 4G connectivity and a 5000mAh battery. The market release date is set at the middle of 2014.

YOTA at MWC 2014

Yota Devices, the company that innovated the world’s first dual-screen, always-on smartphone, unveiled the next generation YotaPhone at Mobile World Congress 2014. The next generation YotaPhone has full-touch control on its always-on electronic paper display (EPD).The YotaPhone headline is: 1-Look, 1-Touch Always-On Display. Running on a Qualcomm quad-core 800 series processor, it has Smart Power Mode, wireless charging, NFC, advanced anti-theft protection, high-performance IHF and it just opened the YotaPhone SDK for third party developers.

Allview at MWC 2014

The Romanian team from Brasov – Allview – has launched at the MWC 2014 show its DualSIM flagship device: Viper S. Equipped with a 1,4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Quad Core, a 5-inch IPS HD OGS display, 2GB RAM, and 16GB storage capacity expandable to 48 GB,  Viper S also has two 13 MP and 5MP Omnivision photocameras, NFC, a 2500 mAh battery and is packing Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
