One out of eleven people from Cluj is currently working in the IT sector and Cluj employs 13.8% of the total IT workforce in Romania – reveals the Cluj IT market report, released on the 8th of December in Cluj-Napoca, by ARIES Transilvania (the local office of the Romanian Association for Electronics and Software Industry). 1235 companies from Cluj have participated to the market research and a selected number of entrepreneurs have been interviewed. Cluj Napoca has won over the years the title of software development and R&D hub of Romania, holding the 2nd position in the national rank of IT business turnovers.

This time, the agile software engineers’ team chose Bicaz Gorges, in the Western Carpathians, as a playground. A short but intense weekend brought together new and old Codespringers.
Cluj Triathlon 2017 at Tarnița Lake, near Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania, was another fantastic reunion of our Codespring Supermen. Congrats for the awesome race and the 3rd rank in the Male Triathlon Competition! Well done! As someone well known said it: “Stay hungry. Stay foolish.” In other words: always push your limits and try doing what others say cannot be done.
After 1500 m of swimming down the Tarnița Lake by Zoltán, 30 km mountain biking, with +690m altitude gain by Jaky and 9 km running by Zsolt, the team reached the top 3 finisher-teams.
Students in software engineering, programming and information technology ought to stay always alert to technology change and development. Codespring team has been implementing one of the best internship programs in Cluj-Napoca and in the region for the last years. Welcoming students from the Faculty of Mathematics – Informatics from the Babeș – Bolyai University Cluj-Napoca and from the Faculty of Automation and Computer Science or the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, the team of mentors from Codespring have prepared this year too interesting topics and themes.

In May 2017, ANIS (The Employers’ Association of Sofware and IT Services in Romania) launched the 4th edition of the much awaited “Romanian Software and IT Services Report”. The report is done in partnership with PAC – Pierre Audoin Consultants. According to the official release, the total turnover of software and IT services sector in Romania gre by 11.3% in 2016 and will surpass the value of 4 billion EUR in 2017.

The winning research and innovation team was also handed the „Iuliu Hațieganu” Pharmacy and Medical Univeristy’s Excellence Award for their incredible results in the field of applied science. PRO INVENT Research, Innovation and Invention International Salon was held between the 22nd and 24th March 2017 at the Technical Univeristy from Cluj-Napoca.
Cluj Innovation Days (CID) the yearly event organized by Cluj IT Cluster for the consolidation of the IT sector and the creation of new innovation based bridges among businesses, academia and the public sector, has closed its 5th edition on the 31st of March 2017. Cluj-Napoca, this vibrant city of Transylvania in Romania is sparrowing up as one of the major R&D and Tech poles of Eastern Europe. The event was hosted by the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of the prestigious Babeș-Bolyai University from Cluj-Napoca.
March 27: Codespring software and development team attended another successful CeBIT edition in March 2017. Marked by the d!gital economy theme, the impressive IoT section and the influence of Japan as a partner country for the edition, the exhibition had a different skin. Each year, there are some special subjects and topics that CeBIT team chooses to highlight. In 2017, one spotlight goes for JAPAN as the partner country and the world’s third-largest economy.
A second spotlight will be on the lead theme d!conomy, made tangible through examples like on-site production at the fair ground, the self-driving bus or inspection drones and digitization standards.

Nowadays, spring in Barcelona equals diving into the mobile world. About 108,000 visitors attended the 2017 Mobile World Congress. 2,300 companies from 208 countries and territories, exhibited across nine halls and eleven outdoor spaces at Fira Gran Via and Fira Montjuïc from the 27th of February until the 2nd of March.
